Safeguarding at KF CIC

KF CIC believe that all children and young people have the right to protection from harm, abuse and exploitation. We always prioritize their safety and wellbeing and work proactively to mitigate any safeguarding risks.

Our approach to safeguarding is underpinned by four safeguarding pillars:

1. Governance

Our governance structure is designed to support a strong safeguarding culture, where everyone feels empowered to raise concerns. All our work prioritises the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and actively works to minimise the risk of harm.

2. Safe Recruitment and Selection

We ensure that our recruitment practices are robust and applied consistently, and that all staff and representatives are suitably recruited, vetted and onboarded.

3. Awareness Raising and Training

We ensure that all our staff and representatives have the knowledge and awareness needed to help them keep children and young people safe in their work. We have mandatory training requirements, with further training on more specific areas delivered when required.

4. Reporting and responding to concerns

We ensure that there are routes to raise concerns and that these are clearly communicated to staff and our partners. We will always act where there is a concern about the welfare of a child or young person that participates in one of our programmes, or about the behaviour of a staff member towards a young person.
